David McDermott

David's journey in glassblowing began in 1973 under the tutelage of Master Gaffer Robert Mason. Learning in the tradition of countless generations of Scottish masters. David gained skills that compliment his natural artistic talent. From the early basic steps to today's ability to create complex pieces, David has cherished the challenges glassblowing offers.

David and his wife Yukimi Matsumoto opened McDermott Glass Studio in Sandwich, MA. in September 2002. David and Yukimi are also accomplished artists in many other areas. Both paint, sculpt and draw extensively, as wellas create original art glass designs. Their resulting rich visual vocabulary allows these two to create glass from aunique and innovative perspective.
